There are a few places out there in this great country where I can have a little get away with my spouse, or a family vacation with relatives I haven't seen since the winter holidays, or play a little golf or lay out by the pool with my high school buddies. Where are all of those vacation spots, you might be asking? Well, there are plenty in West Texas. Not only is everything bigger in Texas but there is a lot more of it. There are so many festivals, attractions, restaurants, sports activities, shopping, and family fun to be had in this vacation spot your head might be set on spin for days after this trip.
I would love to have a great meal every night, explore cultural and historical events and museums as a part of my experience in the new vacation spot. I can just see it now: a round of golf until noon, festivals with music and food until sun down, on one day. Then, visit the historical sites and spend the rest of the day shopping until dusk. There is no reason not to change up the same old routine and venture out into the city. Sure, there are family events in West Texas, but there is something extra special in these events, people, places, and things that only the locals know. Don't you want to find vacation spots with all of that?
Kids of all ages love amusement parks. There is one in every major city. That means that your little boys and girls will be satisfied as long as they get to exhaust themselves on ride after ride until they are near dehydration. But, what if you surprised them with a little something extra? An unexpected day around a new city will create unforgettable memories to last a lifetime. Of course there are children's museums to explore, and each city has some of its history to present to the children in their area.
Speaking of history, there are historical neighborhoods and landmarks to see. With a map and a rental car, you and your children can feel like one of the locals for the day.
How often have you visited vacation spots and all you did was go from your hotel room to the attraction you pre-paid to see, and never actually saw the city. In West Texas, it is your time to experience the local scene. Yes, you can do it all with your family or friends and still make your plane on time.
